Thousands of conference goers gathered to be part of the fun-filled four-day event and many rushed to be the first to purchase the exclusive props and keepsakes only available at Comic-Con. But it takes a packing expert to get those treasures home in one piece.

Our FedEx Office packing pros played sidekick for the weekend and thanks to FedEx Pack Plus were able to save the day. FedEx Pack Plus is an in-store packing solution designed to pack and ship large, bulky and fragile items. Although it was often hard to tell if it was a bird, a plane, a superhero or villain, our Team Members were up for the challenge and packed and shipped merchandise ranging from fragile artwork to oversized costume parrot wings, a dragon mask and even a space helmet.

To successfully complete the mission, FedEx Office Team Members stood by as Comic-Con attendees simply dropped off their merchandise and returned to the conference while everything was packed and shipped home for them.
Reporter Carlos Correa from San Diego 6 (XETV-TV) caught all the action and learned a few things about proper packing techniques. Check out the segment here.

Packing tips:
- Use at least 1 inch layers (preferably 2 inches) of packing peanuts or other cushioning around the item — top, bottom and all four sides.
- Always use 4 to 6 inches of padding to prevent movement inside the box
- Secure the box by taping all the corners and seams in an “H” pattern to keep the box held together during travel. Use proper packing tape that is at least 2 inches wide. No duct tape or masking tape.
- Rely on FedEx Office to pack and ship for you. FedEx Office packing services is backed by the FedEx® Packing Pledge.
