Just like when you move homes, if you’ve decided to relocate your business lately, there can be a laundry list of things to remember during the process. From identifying a new location, packing and moving, to joining a local Chamber of Commerce and updating your current customers on where you’re moving to — the “to do” list never seems to end! Eventually of course, you find yourself settled in and ready to open up shop again.
Now that your business is in its new place, it’s important to make sure your logo, address and phone number are updated in all the right places. This will make it easier for current customers to find you and to build awareness about your business with new customers who are visiting for the first time.
– Make sure you update any exterior or window signage with your business name, address, phone number and hours of operation. Aside from your new address, this information may have changed since you moved to a new site. You may also consider creating an outdoor banner
to celebrate your grand re-opening and help drive attention (and traffic!) through the doors.
– It’s important to keep a consistent brand image, especially when your business has recently moved. Don’t forget to include the contact information for your new location on materials such asbranded packaging
for products, brochures
, business cards
and loyalty cards
. Adding your logo and tagline to these materials can also help customers keep you top of mind.
On the Web – If your business has a website, this is one more place you’ll need to put your new information. Providing customers with general directions or a map of your new location can help point them in the right direction. Last but not least, update any business directories or groups you’re associated with online (e.g., Chamber of Commerce, LinkedIn groups, industry associations) so your contacts can easily stay connected.
Before you know it, you’ve spread the word about your business and made it easier for customers to find your new location!
