Every year, FedEx Office team members roll their sleeves up for the annual FedEx cares day, with this year’s project serving the Boys and Girls Club of Collin County in Texas.
But the volunteer work extends beyond just that day…
FedEx Office presented the Club with a $150,000 donation as part of a three year charitable partnership.

From cleaning, gardening and organizing, to shelf building and painting, volunteers were in full force to give the Plano Boys and Girls Club a full makeover. One special detail of the project was the creation of the “FedEx Office Homework and Resource Room.”
This room was an existing room in the club that was completely demolished and renovated. As part of the donation, the space, geared toward teenage attendees, received 12 new computers, shelving, a relaxing reading corner complete with beanbag chairs, and a purple accent wall branded with an oversized vinyl FedEx Office logo. As well, the Club boasts a new outdoor sign featuring a fresh coat of paint, done by FedEx Office team members.
The $150,000 donation not only goes toward the homework room refresh, but will also expand Club programs, which provide mentoring and tutoring for academic achievement and college readiness. In addition, the program promotes community service and involvement led by teen directors who serve as leaders among their peers.
These Clubs are used by more than 600 kids during the school year, and more than 750 during the summer. The funds will directly support the relief of wear and tear on the Clubs.
Also as a result of the donation, more than 150 children will have an opportunity to attend Boys and Girls Club that would otherwise not have the funding to participate.
Over the next three years (and beyond), FedEx volunteers will continue to make an impact through volunteer projects as well as tutoring and mentoring activities.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates from our work with the Boys and Girls Club of Collin County.
